The show was great!
Like I predicted last time: Immensely powerful. And at a very high level of musicality.
Highlights to me were: Forty Six & 2, Sober(!) and Æema.
Reading some more opinions some people think the band puts some distance between them and "us". I didn't mind at all. I came to see them play, to listen to their music (and watch the visuals). And I think they did great!
We did it! We (Walco, his friend Robert and me) got our selves tickets for the Tool concert in the HMH on June 27th.
This is quite something. Tool concerts are usually sold out in minutes. Literaly. Tool fans are very very fanatic about this band. And not without reason. I think it basically is the best rockband in the world.
Ever.
Immensely powerful. And at a very high level of musicality.
Anyway, I did see Tool once before. 13 years ago and at that time Tool were still obscure, but promising. And they stole my heart with Sober. This song still triggers lots of sentiments in me.
To actually get the tickets I put the alarm clock at 6am. Ouch. But this little sacrifice turned out to be worthwhile. When I got at the postoffice, where the sale would start at 10am, I joined a couple. So, I was second in line and could hardly miss the tickets now!
In the couple of hours waiting for the sales tot start, more people showed up. And although most of'em did see Tool before, on multiple occasions actually, where I never got around getting tickets, I considered myself to be a verteran having seen Tool so long ago.
With a triumphant feeling and with the three tickets in my pocket I left the postoffice and picked up Tool's latest album on my way back home.
I'm listening to it right now. It's great. I can never touch Undertow of course, but it's great nevertheless.
I'm really really looking forward for the 27th.
